New Year, New Challenges- Tim Neave

Returning Buildbase Suzuki rider, Tim Neave is determined to prove himself worthy of a seat in British Superbikes as he looks to complete another successful season in the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship.

“The plan will always be to progress” He said. “I want to prove I’m work a superbike seat.”

Steve Hicken, Team Manager, said: “This team has always given riders the opportunity to progress. I believe that Tim’s got the capability to put himself out there and keep the other riders on their toes.

“If he’s winning week in week out, I don’t see why he wouldn’t be a good match for the superbike in the future.

A strong first year aboard the Suzuki last year, the Lincolnshire rider is full of confidence heading towards the Bank holiday season opener at Oulton Park towards the end of May.

In 2020 he claimed his first National win at Silverstone, also setting a new lap record. Through the course of the 6-round championship, Neave also secured a 3rd place finish along the way, at Donington Park.

With a big goal in sight for this year, his training during the off-season has shifted up a gear, as he aims to reach his season target of more wins, podiums and top 5 finishes.

“I stepped my training up after the final round so now I’m in better shape than ever. I’m just trying to do as much as I can, from cycling to weight and bodyweight training.”

While fitness is one thing, being able to train on a bike is another. Alongside his brother Tom, who also races in Superstock 1000. The duo have been training on motocross bikes, like a great deal of riders do.

There’s a lot to be looking forward to this spring, with official testing scheduled to take place in April, followed by the long- awaited season opener from the 29th of May to the 1st of June.
